Three Little Steps

Hands down, face up and I’m catching a chill, in the pouring rain.
Feeling everybody else’s tears and they almost feel the same.
Their tears feel the same, as mine…

You know that you can touch me,
but you’ve got nothing on me.
Just been waiting for the sun to shine again.

You might think you know me,
but you can’t see right through me.
I’m no closer to the edge this time.
No closer to the edge, this time…

I’ve been searching for the words to write.
To give you piece of mind.
But I can’t tell you the truth and Say I’m sorry, now…

Just figured that I’d sing my song, Make my peace and it wouldn’t take long.
Thought I’d shut my eyes and fly (three little steps away)
Never figured that I’d stand my ground, scream a scream, without a sound.
Just 'cause I couldn’t take those three little steps

Echoes of a long-lost plot, made my peace then I burned the lot.
Thought I’d shut my eyes and cry (three little steps away)
Never figured on a fleeting glance or dreamed a dream of a second chance.
Reinvented just through three little steps

I know you thought you made me,
but there’s no need to save me.
The sun is shining for the very first time in years.
I thought that I’d been used,
but its just bigger shoes, that make it hard to take those three little steps

Take those Three Little Steps
Three little steps away...
